Yes, it is possible to demolish the vehicle even if the car tax has not been paid for the current year or previous years. It is not mandatory to present it during demolition. Unless an administrative stop has been imposed, any overdue car taxes remain the responsibility of the owner.
The car tax must be paid if the demolition occurs after the payment deadline, i.e., within 30 days of expiry (e.g., expiry December 31, demolishing by January 30). The obligation ceases only with the cancellation of the license plates at the PRA. If the demolition occurs by the last day of the tax period, the car tax is not due.
